About Canidium
Canidium is a market leader in Sales Performance Management (SPM), Pricing, and CPQ solutions. We assist mid-sized and Fortune 500 enterprise clients with implementing complex sales-enabling technologies.
We are seeking an experienced Independent Testing Lead Contractor to provide senior-level quality assurance leadership and advisory services for a large-scale, multi-workstream Pricefx implementation.
Engagement Overview & Deliverables
As the Testing Lead Contractor, you will be responsible for defining, orchestrating, and delivering the overarching quality assurance and testing framework across the enterprise Pricefx program. You will provide strategic testing guidance across two primary delivery workstreams, coordinating testing alignment across an extended team of approximately 20 project contributors.
Core Deliverables & Responsibilities:
1. Test Strategy & Quality Governance Framework
-
Formulate and execute a comprehensive enterprise test plan covering Sprint Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-go-live verification.
-
Establish clear entry/exit criteria and acceptance standards for user stories and project milestones.
-
Maintain and adjust testing schedules relative to the release calendar, providing risk alerts to program management.
2. Workstream Testing Coordination
-
Task-allocate, coordinate, and review the testing outputs of 3–6 dedicated testing resources across two delivery workstreams.
-
Coordinate with build, architecture, and integration leads to ensure proper staging of test environments, test data, and code deployments.
-
Lead defect triage sessions alongside the Solution Architect and Project Managers to validate severity and priority classifications.
3. Execution Across All Testing Phases
-
Sprint Testing: Validate functionality against acceptance criteria prior to story sign-off.
-
SIT: Facilitate end-to-end integration flows across Pricefx, ERP, CRM, and middleware systems.
-
UAT: Prepare test scripts, structure data, guide customer business users through testing cycles, and compile sign-off evidence.
-
Post-Go-Live & Hypercare: Execute production verification, post-launch regression, and establish a repeatable regression test suite.
4. Defect Reproducibility & Requirements Analysis
-
Enforce rigorous defect reporting standards to ensure all logged issues are 100% reproducible (exact data setups, configuration details, environment variables, and expected vs. actual outcomes).
-
Critically evaluate functional requirements to identify, document, and escalate conflicting logic (e.g., overlapping pricing rules) to decision-makers.
5. Quality Reporting & Deliverable Sign-Offs
-
Deliver weekly testing progress updates, defect trend analysis, and quality risk evaluations to program leaders.
-
Provide evidence-backed Go / No-Go quality gate recommendations prior to phase transitions.
Contractor Qualifications
Required Expertise:
-
7+ years in software quality assurance, with 3+ years leading test strategy on multi-workstream enterprise implementations.
-
End-to-end testing leadership through all phases (Sprint, SIT, UAT, Go-Live) of at least one enterprise SaaS deployment.
-
Proven track record leading and reviewing the output of technical test teams.
-
Specialized experience testing rule- and data-heavy applications (Pricing, CPQ, ERP, or SPM platforms).
-
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel for data comparison and source validation.
-
Hands-on proficiency with test management and defect tracking platforms (Jira, Xray, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps).
-
Demonstrated ability to identify requirements conflicts and present clear technical findings to senior stakeholders.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Preferred / Optional Expertise:
-
Hands-on experience or formal certification in Pricefx (Price Setting, Quoting, Rebates, Agreements, or Analytics).
-
Experience testing integrations with enterprise platforms (SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
-
Automation or data comparison scripting experience (Python, Groovy, API testing via Postman).
-
Professional certifications (e.g., ISTQB Test Management).
-
Pricing domain knowledge (list prices, cost-plus models, margin structures, discount logic).
Evaluation Process
Our evaluation includes an initial discussion followed by a 45-minute practical working session. You will be asked to review a sample pricing requirements scenario, identify conflicting logic, draft a reproducible defect report, and outline a high-level test approach.
Contractor Compensation & Engagement Terms
Proposed contract rates for this engagement depend on experience and scope of deliverables. As an independent contractor, services will be provided on an invoice basis without eligibility for employee benefits or bonus programs.
